Torres: We've still to hit our stride

Torres: We've still to hit our stride

Fans of Spain and followers of the beautiful game everywhere could be found biting their nails when Fernando Torres went under the knife just one month before his national side’s pre-South Africa 2010 training camp. However, El Niño and his medical team have worked wonders to ensure the Liverpool returned from the operation on his knee to full fitness in time.
“I couldn’t make up my mind for a whole week,” said Torres, who has appeared in all three of La Selección’s games so far on his second trip to the finals. "I would have preferred not to have the operation, but in the end I had no option. It was sad to miss the end of the season with my club, but what kept up my hopes was the chance to come to the World Cup."
FIFA spoke exclusively to the 26-year-old, scorer of Spain’s winner in the final of UEFA EURO 2008 against Germany, ahead of the Round of 16 encounter with Portugal on 29 June in Cape Town.
FIFA: Fernando, would you say that you are beginning to improve game by game?Fernando Torres: Playing again after an operation is always hard, especially as it was only two months ago. It’s hard to get your fitness back. But I’m feeling better bit by bit and everything’s coming more naturally. We worked hard to make sure I made it here, but now I’m just focusing on helping the team as much as I can.
Though you’re yet to open your account at the finals, David Villa is in red-hot form. What can you tell us about him?David’s one of those players who only thinks about scoring. He can shoot and score with either foot and from inside or outside the box. He’s always a threat to opposing teams but they can’t tell which is his stronger foot or how to close him down. That’s why he’s so important to us. Plus he only needs four more goals to overtake Raul as Spain’s highest-ever goalscorer.
We managed to top our group and now it’s up to us to play the football we enjoy playing. We’re certain that the team’s going to get stronger.
-Fernando Torres-
You know a good few of the Portugal players very well. What’s your verdict on Portuguese football and how fierce is the rivalry between Spain and Portugal?I think that Portugal have a very balanced team with a good blend of young and experienced players. They won’t be easy opponents. They had trouble qualifying but they’ve improved a lot at this World Cup and had a good group phase. The rivalry comes from the fact we’re neighbours and because there are so many players who have crossed the border to play in the other country. It’ll be a very intense game.
Spain coach Vicente del Bosque always asks you all to improve a little each game. What areas could you work on?The boss wants us to rediscover our usual form. Spain still haven’t shown their best form or hit the heights we were hoping for. I think it has to do with the defeat against Switzerland. The fact we needed to win our subsequent games, along with the anxiety that brings, stopped us playing the way we would have liked. But now we’re at the stage we’d aimed to reach before we came here. We managed to top our group and now it’s up to us to play the football we enjoy playing. We’re certain that the team’s going to get stronger.
What has the coach asked of you ahead of the Portugal match?I think that we didn’t press aggressively enough in our previous games. We didn’t play close enough to each other. We need to play more as a unit, especially against teams like Portugal who are very strong defensively and will wait for us to bring the game to them. They’ve not conceded a goal yet in South Africa, so a team like that will be very tough to break down. What’s more, they’ve got very dangerous forwards like [Cristiano] Ronaldo and Simao. That means a counter-attacking game would suit them, so that’s something we’ve got to avoid.
What’s your opinion on Cristiano Ronaldo, Portugal’s biggest star? His energy is incredible. He’s a player with quality to spare but he’s also willing to help out his team-mates. When his team is struggling and on the back foot, he’s always ready to receive the ball. He always wants to play and make an impact. Some of my Spain colleagues play alongside him at Real Madrid and say that he’s completely different to the public’s perception of him. He’s a great professional, is one of the first to arrive at training and then he stays afterwards to work out in the gym. Most of the time the image people have is different from the reality. I think that’s the case with all footballers. You have a different persona on and off the pitch.
Do you think Spain will finally hit their best form in time for the Portugal game? It’ll be tough but I’m hoping Spain can produce their best football and, thanks to the support we've got, qualify for the next round. We’re in the knockout stages now and we’re in with a chance of becoming world champions, but we need to do our talking out on the pitch.

Villa: Let's stick together

Villa: Let's stick together

It’s a huge blow,” said midfield maestro Xavi Hernandez after Spain’s unexpected 1-0 defeat to Switzerland, summing up the sense of dejection in La Roja camp. Bloodied but unbowed, the Spaniards still believe firmly in their own abilities, however, and remain committed to their seductive passing game.
Proof of that came when striker David Villa spoke exclusively to FIFA.com after the game. “We need to keep on working,” said the Barcelona striker, who endured a frustrating afternoon in Durban, searching in vain for a chink in Switzerland’s defensive armour. “We don’t have any margin for error now and we can’t afford any more slip-ups. We’ve got to try and win our next two games.”
Asked for an explanation for Wednesday’s shock defeat, El Guaje was almost at a loss for words. “It was a strange game, just like the one against USA at the Confederations Cup last year. The Swiss defended extremely well and made life really hard for us.”
Though understandably disappointed with the outcome, the former Valencia hitman is still a passionate believer in the Spanish style: “We tried to play our game but we didn’t manage to get the penetration we usually do. We’re going to carry on playing the same way, though.”
We didn’t manage to get the penetration we usually do. We’re going to carry on playing the same way, though.
-David Villa-
With coach Vicente del Bosque opting for two holding midfielders in Xabi Alonso and Sergio Busquets, Villa was forced to plough a lone furrow up front, not that the diminutive striker sees that as an excuse for his fruitless performance: “This isn’t the time to start questioning the way we play. We need to stick together right now and find a way to win the two games we’ve got left. The good thing is we’ve got it out of the way and we are convinced we can turn this around.”
The chance to do just that will come on Monday, when the reigning European champions take on Honduras at Ellis Park in Johannesburg. Los Catrachos, who also lost their Group H opener, are appearing in only their second world finals, the first being Spain 1982, when they held the hosts to a goalless draw at the Estadio Luis Casanova in Valencia. Villa, who was six months old at the time, does not fear a repeat: “We’ve just lost but that’s no reason for us to go into the next game scared of defeat.”
Though the media are interpreting Spain’s shock reverse as something of a humbling, Villa rejects any suggestion that he and his team-mates have gone into the tournament believing themselves to be favourites. “The only ones who’ll say we’ve been humbled are the people who’ve been saying we’re the favourites,” counters Villa. “The players have always called for calm and what happened today showed we’ve been right to do that. We’ve always said that anyone can make life difficult for you and we weren’t wrong. That’s why our conscience is clear right now.”
Villa and his fellow strikers have had it tough at the 2010 FIFA World Cup South Africa™ so far, with goals proving hard to come by, though the Spanish hotshot sees that as entirely logical: “The teams have a lot of respect for each other, especially in the first round, with everyone feeling their way into what is such an important competition. All I want is for the goals to flow again when Spain play.”
Should they do so, there is a good chance Villa will be involved somewhere.

Strikers sharpen their sights

Strikers sharpen their sights

Before the idea of the sound bite ever gained currency, legendary 1954 FIFA World Cup™-winning Germany coach Sepp Herberger was a master of the terse but memorable quip. Although its origin is in fact a matter for debate, one such quote usually attributed to Herberger - Das Runde muss ins Eckige, “The round thing has to go in the rectangular thing” – concisely sums up the whole point of the game, taking your chances and scoring goals.
For this fundamental reason, the spotlight at the forthcoming 2010 FIFA World Cup South Africa will inevitably fall on the strikers. But goalscoring is a mysterious craft. For every in-form hitman tucking away all his chances, no matter how improbable, there is a normally reliable goalscorer who cannot, for love nor money, find the net. That single, crucial difference is generally the decisive factor between defeat and victory.
Casting an eye over the attacking talent on display at the global showdown in Africa, it is immediately clear that fans can look forward to watching the crème de la crème in action. Intriguingly, a majority of the big-name nations boast not one but two world-class strikers this time round.
Liga stars set to tormentThe obvious starting point is reigning FIFA World Player of the Year Lionel Messi of Barcelona, winner of the Golden Shoe as Europe’s top scorer and partnered up front for Argentina by Spanish league rival Gonzalo Higuain of Real Madrid.
Messi’s predecessor as the world’s best player, Cristiano Ronaldo, plays alongside Higuain in Madrid and enjoyed a more than satisfactory first season with Los Blancos. In Portugal colours, Ronaldo lines up alongside former Manchester United team-mate Nani in a genuinely formidable attacking pairing.
Perennial FIFA World Cup favourites Brazil include four nominal strikers in Robinho, Nilmar, Grafite and Luis Fabiano, but with the goalscoring prowess of Kaka coming through from midfield, A Canarinho fans need hardly worry about where the goals could be coming from.
Holders Italy include in their ranks the man who finished top scorer in Serie A last term, Antonio di Natale. The 32-year-old will doubtless be consulting fellow strikers Vincenzo Iaquinta and Alberto Gilardino for advice, as the pair were part of the FIFA World Cup-winning squad four years ago.
The adidas Golden Shoe for the top scorer at the 2006 finals went to Miroslav Klose. He is again in the Germany squad, along with Lukas Podolski, named best young player at the same tournament. However, both struggled to recapture the form of 2006 in disappointing 2009/10 campaigns at club level.
The Germans have more reason than most to be wary of reigning European champions Spain, as La Roja marksmen Fernando Torres and David Villa were largely responsible for orchestrating the Germans’ downfall in the UEFA EURO 2008 final. The Iberians will again look to the deadly front two for inspiration and goals in South Africa.
Rivals carry hopes and dreamsIn the case of England, just one name stands head and shoulders above the rest, and the name is Wayne Rooney. In contrast to his Germany counterparts, the 24-year-old enjoyed an outstanding season for Manchester United and finished second top scorer in the Premier League on 26 goals.
He was bested by the slim margin of a single goal by Didier Drogba from champions Chelsea, although the Côte d’Ivoire superstar is on the doubtful list for the finals at present with an elbow injury. However, even without the 32-year-old, Les Eléphants boast plenty of firepower with the likes of Salomon Kalou and Kader Keita.
Turning to the other African hopefuls, Cameroon are led by Samuel Eto’o, a UEFA Champions League winner for the last two years with Barcelona and Inter Milan. Top-notch talent is to be found elsewhere too, with Nigerian duo Victor Obinna and Obafemi Martins and Ghana marksman Asamoah Gyan.
Elsewhere, Honduran striker Carlos Alberto Pavon goes into the tournament with the special distinction of being the leading goalscorer of them all, as he has a total of 56 international goals to his name.
Space prevents us expanding our list of first-class forwards at the forthcoming FIFA World Cup, although it would be an easy enough task, what with the presence of Arjen Robben (Netherlands), Franck Ribery (France), Harry Kewell (Australia) and Cuauhtemoc Blanco (Mexico), and many more besides.
It would be a major surprise if the next four weeks failed to produce goals galore. And the 2006 finals proved, if proof were needed, that a decent scoring record tends to lead to success. Hosts Germany scored 14 goals and claimed third place at the finals, while world champions Italy netted 12 times en route to their triumph. Runners-up France (nine goals) and fourth-placed Portugal (seven) also finished near the top of the scoring charts.
At South Africa 2010, just as so often before, the best form of defence could well be to attack.

DAVID VILLA sanchez
Top scorer at UEFA EURO 2008 and a fixture at the sharp end of the Spanish attack, David Villa is currently one of the world's hottest striking properties. A born competitor with an unquenchable thirst for finding the net, Villa always has the goal in his sights whether playing as an out-and-out forward, in a withdrawn role or wide-left in a front three.
Known as El Guaje (an affectionate name given to children in his native Asturias), this quick and explosive hitman is certainly not afraid of hard work, and is always willing to drop deep and help out his midfield. It is this level of commitment and the gutsy nature of his performances that make the Valencia man a fan's favourite for club and country, as well as earning him his fair share of run-ins with match officials.
Naturally right-footed, Villa is nearly as proficient with his left, thanks to a childhood accident and his father's foresight. Seeing how his four-year old son would not stop playing even after bearing a plaster cast on his broken right leg, Villa senior felt it best to show the youngster how to strike the ball with his weaker foot.
Now 28, Villa came up through the youth ranks and began learning his trade at Sporting de Gijon, before exploding onto the La Liga scene at Real Zaragoza, where he enjoyed two goal-filled years between 2003 and 2005. Valencia then spent big to bring the front-runner to the Mestalla, though El Guaje quickly repaid the investment by coming within one goal of the division's top scorer's award, El Pichichi, in his debut campaign. He did however finish as the leading Spanish-born scorer, an honour he has since claimed on two further occasions.
After the 2009/2010 season, Villa signed with FC Barcelona and will now wear the vaunted blaugrana colours after helping Spain qualify simply for South Africa 2010. The Asturian made his debut for La Roja in February 2005, during Spain's successful qualifying campaign for the 2006 FIFA World Cup Germany™. And the tournament itself could barely have started better, with Villa notching twice in his country's 4-0 opening win over Ukraine. Despite Luis Aragones's side's exit from the competition in the Round of 16 against France, Villa's four-goal haul certainly did his own standing no harm whatsoever.
Since then, save for absences through injury or suspension, Villa has been an ever-present in La Roja squad and had already racked up 36 goals at the time of publication. Now second in Spain's all-time scorers' list, at his current rate Raul's record tally of 44 appears well within his reach.
Playing a part in his huge popularity is that, whatever plaudits and success come his way, Villa never fails to play down his own role and heap praise on those around him. And next up for Spain and their inspirational goal-getter is the sizable challenge of South Africa 2010, where he and his mates will be keen to make up for the disappointments of 2006.

GREYSON CHANCE is the new JUSTIN BIEBER ?

Gadis Ngegosip

who is GRAYSON CHANCE ?
Dia nyanyi Papparazzi-nya Lady GAGA. Wiihh, emang bener sihh, suaranya baguss bener apalagi di nada-nada tinggi. Anak umur 12 taun ,suaranya udah kayak mas-mas umur 25-an. Ckckckckckckc..

Ellen DeGeneres lah orangnya. Wow!!!

banyak orang yang bilang kalau si kecil gray ini bakal jadi pengganti si JBiebs ! OHHH MY GOSSHHH!
dan suara mereka ini beda banget genre-nya. jadi jangan sama-samain JBiebs sama GRAYSON CHANCE ini deh mendingan. both of them are DIFFERENT !
Jadi kalauu di pikir emang mungkin bakal jadi saingan si JBiebs, tapi nggak lah yaa kalau jadi penggantinya si JBiebs! apalagi jadi the new JUSTIN BIEBER ! haduuhh, gaaa bangeet! it's a BIG NO if he want to replaced JUSTIN BIEBER ! BECAUSE HE CAN'T REPLACED JBiebs! NEVER ! I think BIEBER is waaayy waaayy waayyy better than Gray.. hohhhhoo..
agree BELIEBERS ? :))

what i think about photograph?

you know what? beauty isn't the point of photography
and no body knows the point
so, who's know the point?
you. yes, you
if you want to know the answer, all you have to do is..
see some picture
learn it
feel it
find the meaning
gotcha, that's the point
btw, do you understand? no? ok
just see this picture
i mean, duh!, she isn't beauty

so people, open your eyes
don't see the picture just like "oh, she's smiling, not good, bye"
feel it! it's easy
and if you can find the point of some picture..
you will get easier to know the people's attitude
honestly, just one sentence that i have to tell you
"DON'T - ever - see - people - just - from - his/her - face - but - see - people - from - their - heart!!"

goodluck!

Lagi sibuk?

Teh

Kalau kita gampang capek waktu belajar, mungkin kita butuh minum teh.

351-500: Berbahaya! Level dimana dibutuhkan penanganan medis darurat. Bisa membahayakan kesehatan manusia.

Fakta Unik Seputar Senyum

Gadis Ngobrol
All Smiles by optikal..
A Smile by _cassia_.
The perfect time to smile by ilovestrawberries (Carmi).
Sebuah senyuman konon katanya sanggup meredakan amarah seseorang.

Nah, masih malas tersenyum? Jangan, dong.

    * ‘Royal smile’ artinya bukan tersenyum ala bangsawan, lho.

•    Cuci rambut minimal 2x seminggu.

unique shoes

Good Jelly Shoes
Gadis Keren

Hasilnya, cute and irresistable shoes!
Shoes from Bamboo!
Gadis Keren
